“Paul, we will miss you”
– Maarten

Today is a sad day for the EDM community as we say goodbye to one of its finest artists. Yesterday Paul Bäumer, one half of the internationally acclaimed group Bingo Players, unfortunately lost his battle with cancer after being diagnosed early July this year. The news was announced this morning on the group’s official Facebook page from Paul’s DJ partner, Maarten Hoogstraten.

The message expressed Maarten’s appreciation for the support of fans, friends and family over the past few months and goes onto saying that all future gigs have been cancelled. The news exploded over the twitter-sphere as friends, colleagues and other EDM superstars began to express their condolences to Paul and his family.

Their two most recognised tracks are “Cry (Just a Little)” and “Rattle“, which have both been sampled by music sensation Flo-Rida with “I Cry” and Far East Movement and their song “Get Up (Rattle)“. Both became international hits as they sky rocketed into the worldwide top ten music charts.

The duo have performed at epic music festivals including Ultra Music Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival, Coachella, Tomorrowland and just a few months ago were at the Stereosonic Australia Tour.

It has been a great loss for EDM lovers all over the world; Paul Bäumer was indeed a legend and his musical talent will live on through his fans.

Rest in Peace.
